J’IRAI DANSER AU-DESSUS DES VAGUES

Pettit*Rochet (CH)

A Sensory Immersion at the Heart of Uncertainty

J’IRAI DANSER AU-DESSUS DES VAGUES (I WILL DANCE ABOVE THE WAVES in French) is a contemporary dance piece that offers a rare experience: dancing with your eyes closed for thirty minutes. This radical act opens up a sensory and introspective space, an inner journey that echoes the ever-changing world in which the new generation is growing up. Today, young people are growing up amid unprecedented political, social, and environmental upheavals. Technologies are redefining modes of communication, geopolitical crises are multiplying, ideologies are hardening, and trust in institutions is crumbling. In this landscape saturated with images, polarized discourse, and contradictory demands, uncertainty has become a daily reality. Closing one’s eyes thus becomes an act of resistance. A voluntary withdrawal from the visual flow to feel more deeply. A way to reconnect with an intimate, fragile, vibrant perception. This approach is inspired by the writing of Marguerite Duras, who in *The Lover* explores the quest for identity in an elusive world. Like her, the piece seeks to touch upon what lies beneath the surface: buried emotions, fears, impulses, and hopes. At the heart of the production, the dancers navigate between disillusionment and resilience. Their bodies seek balance on imaginary waves, colliding, supporting one another, coming together. They embody a youth that wavers but persists, that doubts but moves forward, that invents new forms of solidarity to face an uncertain future. Through them, the piece explores our collective capacity to stand tall, to connect, and to transform.

NOUS AUTRE

Jasmine Morand (CH)

In 2026, MARCHEPIED Cie invites choreographer and dancer Jasmine Morand, artistic director of the Prototype Status company (Vevey), to collaborate with the company’s dancers on the creation of the original choreographic piece NOUS AUTRE.

“Everything is a paradox. The collective reassures, nourishes, and builds its own strength. Yet, beneath this shared aura, a hold is woven: one that dissolves the individual, erasing the singularity that shapes US. Imperceptibly, we slip into the skin of an OTHER: a dependent organism, lost in the crowd.

In an existential jolt, we will then seek to reclaim and breathe life into our independence through resolutely individual acts…”
