The Theatre Restaurant!
In 1971 the Dimitri Theater is inaugurated, in Verscio, followed by the opening of the Theater Restaurant, located next door. The restaurant opens to the public before shows at five p.m. A “bistrot”, unique in it’s genre and style offers visitors seating both inside and out , in the theater’s courtyard. The staff, made up of Dimitri School students and the manager, Joe Maggetti, warmly receive guests. Local culinary specialties, both warm and cold, are prepared “a la minute” and accompanied by a selection of regional wines or beer.
After the show, guests often gather and share delicious dishes, cakes, wine, beer, or the local “gazzosa” in cheerful company, entertaining themselves with the artists. Guests find themselves discussing plots of pieces seen, or maybe, singing along to a melody played on a guitar. Dancing may follow as the celebration continues on into the night.
Whether before shows or after, a visit to the Theater Restaurant is more than worthwhile.
